Jose Villa photobook!

Jose Villa has a book out on wedding photography--I need it!!

He takes seriously LUSCIOUS film photos

LOVING my d40, but one day I really want to play around with film. I feel like I have to earn it though, since with film each picture costs money!

Speaking of my camera, my friend Abby, who is an AMAZING photographer, just gave me the best gift EVER--she gave me her old 50 mm 1.8 lens!! It doesn't autofocus with a d40, so I have to manually focus everything. It started to hurt my eyes after a while, but I feel like I'm really starting to get the hang of it! At least of things that don't move--like food....Brody crawling, though--that's a TOTALLY different story. ;)

Cute PJs

Gap has some pretty adorable pajamas right now, including these bee ones, which of course I want for Brody.

Growing up, one of our Christmas traditions was getting new PJs and a book every Christmas Eve. Then we would take a cheesy picture of all of us kids in our new PJs and then we would scamper off to bed to read our new book while we waited for Christmas morning to come! I loved that tradition, and Ellis and I want to pass it on and make that a tradition for our kids too! Can't wait till Brody's old enough to enjoy it!

I just rearranged our living room and dining room furniture and now there is a bare wall that needs a little bit of whim. Urban Outfitters usually has a good selection of fun wall decals, so I checked out their website and found something way better. Wallflowers! Immediately I knew this is EXACTLY what I want.

Being a ridiculously indecisive person (once I went through the check-out at Ross with a colander, decided not to get it, got out to the parking lot, turned around and went back through and bought it, and then the very next day went back and returned it), I rarely experience this sort of certainty. It was a really nice feeling, haha!

One more reason to learn to sew :)

Ok, it's things like THIS that make me really wish I hadn't dismissed sewing as a kid, thinking the only reason to learn to sew was if you wanted to make jumpers and culottes (not cute and vintagey like these though...we're talking the ultimate in homeschool fashion)--both were favorites of my local homeschool community and I didn't see the point in spending a lot of time and effort to craft my own hideous accoutrements. Wish I'd had the foresight to know all the CUTE things you could make!

So after I finish practicing with my little burpcloths and potholders and all those little things, I'm totally gonna try my hand at making Haymitch something like that!

And speaking of Etsy, this is on my wishlist too, and also my latest painting inspiration!
